"Making Sense of it All"                                Rev. Eric Northard

Today we will focus on themes of justice and equality.  April 16 is Emancipation Day remembering the emancipation of some slaves some 86 years after the Declaration on Independence exhorted that "We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness . . ." Yet, equality still eludes us in so many facets of life.  How can we atone for injustice, continue to strive for a more just society, and create a vision of a future where justice is the norm while many around us tell us that we are being divisive by broaching difficult topics?
